Discover the benefits of guided practice, exploring your intuition, and learning to give—and receive—at Self-Heal School.
There’s a moment in partner practice when the roles change.
You’ve been learning to give an energy healing.
Now your classmate takes a turn practicing, and you become the recipient.
For someone accustomed to helping, listening, organizing, and caring for others, that exchange may hold an appeal all its own.
You get to receive, too.
At Self-Heal School in San Diego, Energy Healing I with Jane Richmond brings students together for six Thursday evenings of demonstrations, guided practice, conversation, and discovery.
Perhaps you’re interested in intuition.
Perhaps you’ve wondered what an energy-healing session involves.
Perhaps you’d simply enjoy learning something new with people who share your curiosity.
This class gives you somewhere to begin—and someone experienced to guide you.
Learn with a Teacher Who Can Meet Your Questions
Jane Richmond began her professional work with energy healing, intuition, herbs, and nutrition in 1982.
She brings more than four decades of experience to the classroom, along with warmth, compassion, and humor.
For students, that background becomes valuable in practical moments.
You watch her demonstrate a technique.
You try it with a classmate.
A question comes up, and Jane is there to help you work through it.
You can ask about positioning, revisit a step, or request another demonstration while the exercise is still fresh.
That is one of the pleasures of learning in person: your questions become part of the lesson.
“Could you show me that again?” belongs in the classroom.
Complete beginners are welcome.
You can arrive interested, uncertain, and ready to learn.
Experience Both Sides of Giving and Receiving
Practicing as both practitioner and recipient gives you two perspectives on a session.
While giving, you work with the techniques Jane introduces.
You practice attention and intention, follow the sequence of an exercise, and communicate with your partner.
Receiving brings different questions into focus.
What helps you feel comfortable?
Would you like more explanation before beginning?
Is there something you want your partner to know?
These details can shape your understanding of considerate practice.
A preference you discover while receiving may become something you remember to ask about when you next give a session.
The exchange also makes room for a more personal question:
How comfortable am I allowing someone to give me their attention?
You can bring that question into the experience, too.
Giving and receiving each ask something of us.
Taking time for both makes the learning richer.
Explore Intuition Through Questions You Can Actually Use
“Intuition” can sound mysterious until you begin discussing your own experience.
During an exercise, you might describe a sensation, an impression, a change in your attention, or uncertainty about what you noticed.
The next step is to get curious:
- What did I actually observe?
- What meaning am I giving it?
- What am I assuming?
- What would I like to ask Jane?
These questions give reflection a practical shape.
They also leave room for discernment.
Your impression and your partner’s experience may differ.
Something that feels meaningful to you can still deserve further thought.
You’re allowed to be curious without being certain.
Over six evenings, you can revisit questions, compare observations, and develop your perspective through participation.
There’s time to think about an exercise and return with something you’d like to understand more clearly.

Practice with Clear Boundaries
Working with another person includes paying attention to your own comfort.
Grounding and boundaries are among the foundations students explore in Energy Healing I.
During partner practice, those subjects connect to everyday actions: asking a question, communicating a preference, respecting personal space, or pausing when you need clarification.
A simple sentence can make a difference:
“I’d like you to explain that before we begin.”
“Could we pause for a moment?”
“Are you comfortable continuing?”
Being able to speak—and listen—in these moments is part of practicing thoughtfully with another person.
For people who describe themselves as sensitive or easily overwhelmed, this aspect of the course may be especially interesting.
Caring attention includes consideration for both people involved.
Your comfort, your questions, and your limits have a place in the exchange.
Give Yourself an Evening to Look Forward To
There’s pleasure in learning something because it interests you.
There’s also pleasure in finding people who want to learn about it, too.
In a classroom, those connections grow through ordinary moments: a question asked aloud, observations shared after practice, a conversation, a laugh.
Returning each week gives the experience continuity.
You can build on an exercise, revisit something that puzzled you, and become more familiar with your classmates.
Student Kim K. described the classes this way:
“They were always the highlight of my week!”
That sense of anticipation is part of what makes a recurring class appealing: an evening on the calendar devoted to curiosity, participation, and time together.
You might arrive with a friend. You might come on your own.
Either way, you’ll be learning alongside others who have chosen to explore the same subject.
